Kenjutsu Sparring Group

Gekikengumi is the steel sparring group at Cedar Park Dojo. Our members come from diverse martial arts backgrounds, but we are brought together by our mutual love of kenjutsu and gekiken.

What is kenjutsu?

Kenjutsu (剣術) is the classical Japanese art of swordsmanship. The oldest extant lineages trace their histories back to feudal Japan, when kenjutsu and other martial arts were akin to military technology. In ancient times, kenjutsu and other art forms were taught together within unified systems known as sōgōbujutsu (総合武術).
